An international game jam empowering girls and
non-binary youth through creativity and code
August 16 - 22, 2025

About
Girls Got Game is an international online game jam designed to empower girls and nonbinary youths ages 13–18 to explore creativity, coding, and storytelling through game development. Whether you're new to games or already creating, this beginner-friendly event offers resources, and a supportive space to build and share your own game. We’re here to help you grow your skills and have fun doing it!
What is a Game Jam?
A game jam is a fun, short-term event where people come together to make games based on a surprise theme (ex: “growth” or “light and shadow”). You don’t need experience, just creativity and a willingness to try! Over a few days, you’ll design and build a simple game (on your own or with a team), and then share it with others at the end.
How to Participate
Register Online
Sign up individually using the google form here. After that, you will receive all the details you need to get started! If you want to join a team, there will be a separate form for that after you register individually.
Join the Kickoff (Aug 15)
We’ll announce the theme (a phrase to inspire your game), share resources, and answer questions during a virtual kickoff event.
Make Your Game (Aug 16-22)
You’ll have one week to create a game based on the theme. Use any tool or platform (ex: Scratch, Unity, Godot, and more)! It’s not just programming though, you can also participate as part of a team by contributing art, music, or design!
